La Voie des Ombres
by
No, it’s not my high school French coming back. It’s the French release of The Way of Shadows, coming on the 19th of February from Bragelonne. Here’s the amazing cover by Frédéric Perrin. C’ést magnifique, non? (I’m pretty sure that’s French for “It kicks ass, huh?”) There’s also an interview HERE. Yes, it is in French. But if you haven’t discovered it yet, you can use the cool Google Translate feature. The whole page (automatically translated) is HERE. It does translate “The Way of Shadows” as “Shadows Lane.” Nnniice. Some parts of the interview are totally incomprehensible, but that might be the fault of the interviewee rather than the technology. I guess we sad monoglots will just have to make do.
(Click to enlarge. I had to make it pathetically small to fit WordPress. It deserves to be seen larger.)
I think I’m going to need to buy french copies of the books just for the covers…that is simply amazing!
Umm okay French cover? DO WANT. It’s so epic and dark! I think i will buy the french version should it ever go on Amazon 😀 Even though… I don’t know french >_>
*pokes lil Kylar*
That is frickin sweet i didn’t even notice what i think is Durzo behind again Kylar until i had already looked at it for two or three minutes. This really captures the Wetboy feel for me.
That cover art is so cool, you could totally sell it as a poster.
‘It kicks ass, huh?’; ‘Ça déchire, hein?’ or ‘C’est magnifique, hein?’ ^^.
This art deserves to be made into desktop wallpaper as well as posterized. Fantastic! That captures the look and feel I had in my mind almost perfectly.
I only recognised Durzo by Retribution on his back! The other interpretation is that it’s not Durzo, so to speak, but a symbol of what Azoth will become.
Actually, I’ve been in touch a bit with the artist, Frederic Perrin. I’m trying to get a signed print myself! But I will definitely bring up the idea of posters. Odds are low they’d bring them out, but doesn’t hurt to ask, huh?
F#$%ing awesome!!! Better than the US cover IMHO.
by the night angels that is the coolest book cover ever
its totaly poster worthy
oh man I read all three books in 2 days then read them again for the fun of it and after reading it again I went online just to read more about them you have no idea what this book was to me its become my life I’ve drawn things about dreamt about thought about it I even acted it out with friends of mine…..its lame I know but I love acting and I loved the books.
La Voie des Ombres… hmm… sounds cool. I wonder how that would
read as a french novel. Sounds pretty interesting though. I should
try to pick up a copy. 🙂
Glad to hear you’re making it into the french world of literature!
Hope that works out for you!

I don’t know why, but for some reason I always pictured Retribution as sort of a scimitar.
Glad to see that the trilogy is doing well enough to get translated. I think the French cover is amazing, and I also think that the translation to La voie des ombres is a very good one (native french speaker here). It carries all the meaning of the English title and also attracts your interest the way the English title does.
Well done!
That cover looks amazing! I’m so jealous, the Eurpoean countries always seem to get the best covers for books!
actually, here in england weve got the same covers as you.If you are in amrica that is.
What a fantastic cover. Jealous!
I have tried to improve the English translation of the interview but I don’t know how the update works.
Wait and see

I love the artwork of the cover as well. Looks like a great book to read.
Must. Have. Where can I get it?
